The Ice Skating Association of Ireland works with the following ice skating and sporting organisations:
International Skating Union – The International Skating Union is the sole international governing body for competitive ice skating recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1892 in Scheveningen, Netherlands making it one of oldest sporting organisations in the world. Its headquarters today are located in Lausanne, Switzerland. Ireland has been a member since 2008.
Federation of Irish Sport – The Federation of Irish Sport is made up of the National Governing Bodies (NGBs) in Ireland. Its main purpose is to advocate for increased investment in sport by the State and to highlight the economic and social benefits of sport. The ISAI has been a member since 2008.
Sport Ireland – Sport Ireland is the Government agency tasked with the development of competitive and recreational sport within Ireland. The ISAI was recognised by Sport Ireland in 2013.
Olympic Federation of Ireland – The Olympic Federation of Ireland is Ireland’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) and has responsibility for selecting and supporting Team Ireland at the Olympic Games and developing the Olympic movement in Ireland. The ISAI has been affiliated to the OCI since 2008.
In April 2022, the Irish Winter Sports Strategy 2022-2026 was launched.
