The Emerald Skate programme is a nationally recognised Learn-to-Skate programme developed by the ISAI which teaches the fundamentals of skating.

The main objectives of the Emerald Skate programme are to develop a skater’s confidence and skills on the ice; to provide a fun and safe skating experience for the beginner as well as the more advanced skater; to develop a finer degree of coordination and balance; to teach correct technique of the basic elements of ice skating.

The skater is tested on competent demonstration of the skills at each of the eight levels. On successfully passing all levels, the skater may choose to specialise in any of the ice skating disciplines or even try out ice hockey.
