In Memoriam: Dorothy Chisnall

The Ice Skating Association of Ireland is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of ISAI Honorary Member Dorothy Chisnall on 9 August 2026.

During the early days of ice skating in Ireland and onwards, she was an enthusiastic proponent for the sport. Those in the ice skating community in Ireland who knew her remember an amazing, kind-hearted woman whose love touched so many lives. Her passion for figure skating, an ice rink in Ireland and the ISAI was truly special. She also had such a beautiful love for animals and always showed compassion and kindness wherever she went. She was so encouraging and positive to so many skaters and had such an impact on many of them. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the joy, warmth and memories she gave will remain forever. May she rest peacefully. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
