Irish Skaters Shine At Stars On Ice Cup 2017

A team of four skaters represented Ireland at the Stars On Ice Cup 2017 in Zoetermeer, Netherlands this weekend.

First up was Alex James in the Men Maxi’s Free Skating. James attempted four jumps, two spins and a step sequence to score 7.11 points and place second.

Faye Donohoe was the second Irish skater in action in the Ladies Maxi’s Free Skating. Donohoe included four jumping passes, two of which were combinations, two spins and a step sequence to earn a score of 13.15 points and finish eighth.

On the second day of competition, Kevin Hegarty skated in the Men Midi’s Free Skating. Hegarty performed four jump elements, two in combinations, two spins and a step sequence to post a score of 12.56 and win the title.

The final skater to take to the ice was Laura Hegarty in the Ladies Pre Basic Novice A Free Skating. Hegarty put two Axel jumps, one in combination, as well as two other jumps, two spins and a step sequence in her routine. She scored 17.68 points and placed 17th overall.
