It’s a very busy week for Team Ireland with three skaters attending the ISU Development Trophy in Poland this week and Conor Stakelum and Clara Peters competing at the Triglav Trophy in Jesenice, Slovenia. Peters shares her thoughts in advance of her short programme tomorrow.
Hello from Slovenia!
This time the fun began before even getting to the airport. Seeing as the weather forecast said it’s meant to rain all weekend, it was the perfect excuse to buy some wellington boots. So one quick stop later, Karen (Ludington) and I had our new team wellies and were off to the airport.
After ‘sneaking’ into the the business lounge ( I lost my gold status at the beginning of the month, but we still got in! ), we got bored and went in search of some shopping.. And found The Gap. After a tad more shopping we hopped on the plane and were off to Frankfurt.
We made it to Slovenia, as did our bags ( Lily is with me this time ) which is always a plus. The drive from the airport to out hotel was through some snow covered mountains which were so pretty. Once all the unpacking was done, it was off to the rink for the junior men’s event! Conor skated really well.
After that I had my first practice and I’m raring to go tomorrow. Talk to you soon!
